Ian Gillespie
Club President. Head Coach - Mid/Long Distance
Ian joined a youth club at age 12 and has competed every year since. He is the national indoor record holder for 3000m for Scotland. The second fasted Scottish athlete ever at 5000m (13:18.06). He is a Member of the British record team in the 4XMile. Ian Ran in the world Cross Country champs, Euro indoors, Commonwealth Games, World Road Relay, Diamond leagues. He is a Sub Four minute miler and competed in races all over the world from the far East to Africa to Europe to America. Ian is also the head cross country coach and Distance coach for Beaverton High School.
D'onte Claypool
Sprints
D’onte started running track when he was 13 years old and his life has been centered around the sport ever since. After a successful high school career, D’onte took upon a different approach to the sport in college joining the staff of the University of Florida. A program driven by Hall of Fame coach Mike Holloway, D’onte won 3 National Championships and 3 SEC Championships with the Florida Gators. After college, Claypool took a role coaching the youth in a small sprint camp in Plant, City Florida. As this season approaches, Claypool is eager for a full season with BYTC.

Ursula Sandau
Coach – Sprints
Ursula ran the 100, 200 and 4x100 relay throughout high school. Following high school she took up distance racing and has competed in numerous 5k, 10k and half marathons both on and off road. She has also served as a pace mentor for half marathons through a local running store for 5 years and coached numerous individuals to PRs.
David Fitting
Coach - Sprints/Jumps
David began his track coaching as a parent volunteer in 1989 for the USATF youth club, The West Yakima Ramblers. His training from five area high school coaches helped to develop skills with focuses on long jump, throws, sprints & relays, and multi events. In 1996, he took over the club as head coach and began assisting high school teams with the shot put and discus. David has had the pleasure of coaching youth athletes at the National and International levels. David has worked as a meet official for many years with a special passion for Division-1 college T&F.
